Committee Objectives

- Promote water resource management in its operating area;

- Promote integration in defending against critical water events; 

- Recognize water resources as a public asset; 

- Make water resources compatible with environmental protection; 

- Propose the sharing of project costs for multiple water usage; 

- Foster water protection against actions that can compromise current and future multiple uses. 

- Prepare and approve the Integrated Management Master Plan of Watershed Resources - PLAMIRH;

- Perform studies, disclose and debate programs to create works and projects performed on the Watershed; 

- Prepare and keep records of water users; 

- Propose to CERH the creation of a Water Agency; 

- Promote co-participation among water resource users;

- Submit to CERH the PLAMIRH, considering the quality and quantity aspects to be included in the State Water Resource plan; 

- Coordinate required activities for controlling flooding; 

- Monitor the execution of works and projects of any kind for watersheds; 

- Promote the harmonization of PLAMIRH;

- Administrate so that PLAMIRH guides the environmental permissions ;

- Manage financial and technological resources jointly with public and private entities for executing the Management Plan; 

- Propose values and appeal to CERH for managing water usage from the watershed; 

- Evaluate and deliver advice on investment programs for services and worksites; 

- Propose competent entities to define the classification of bodies of water;

- Supply subsidies for preparing a report on the status of water resources; 

- Request technical support from member entities of the national water resource management system when necessary; 

- Promote the publication and disclosure of identified problems; 

- Promote preventive and corrective measures in critical situations, as well as making judicial, penal, and civil natural persons or legal entities liable who have caused pollution/contamination of the soil and water;  

- Discuss relevant topics in public meetings; 

- Express opinions on the submitted subjects.
